Working for both visitors & organisations

I create learning opportunities with which people of all ages and backgrounds can use heritage - both natural and cultural to make positive changes to their lives.

Survival, funding, support, staffing…

These are real concerns of learning departments especially but also whole organisations these days.

I am committed to developing heritage sites as relevant and valuable places for our society today.

Places that schools, adult learning/support organisations can rely on to help them achieve their agendas.

It’s not just about ‘draining’ a resource but it’s about building that resources’s potential as a real asset to communities and people.

Ultimately helping you bring in audiences but also funding, support and sustainability.

How I can help you

Your visitors & your organisation

Building potential to make your organisation a real asset to communities and people. Bringing in audiences but also funding, support and sustainability.

Organisations are custodians of heritage - gatekeepers to heritage resources. I am able to help you to offer resources and programmes that meet your visitor’s needs but also ensure your sustainability going forward.

Schools Programmes

I have extensive experience of developing and delivering sessions which highlight the strengths and stories within museum collections for pupils in Scotland.

Community heritage projects

I have developed and delivered several large and small heritage-based projects for communities and adult learning groups.

Interpretation & development

I have an MSc in Interpretation Management and Practice and I am building my practice in developing interpretation that meets the needs of visitors and heritage organisations.

How I work

  • Learning

Creating opportunities for people to develop, change and learn is at the heart of everything I do. Making positive change through learning is my purpose.

  • Depth

I believe depth is the secret to success. To deeply understand people, organisations and objectives is to be able to develop resources that really do work

  • Adaptability

I want to be as useful as I can possibly be, so I try to be flexible and adapt to my clients needs, solving your problems for you.

  • Hi, I'm Nicola

I find history fascinating and truly believe in its potential to help us today. Stories of people and how they lived and adapted to situations is just as relevant today as any time. I want to uncover those stories and use them to help people today.

“ Nicola knows family audiences inside out and I know I can always expect a great families’ session when she is involved.”
